Encountering Jesus in the Proverbs

Hidden Worries Can Be Turned To Wisdom and Grace

Every Friday, I join an online Christian writing community, Five Minute Friday. We are given a one-word prompt and write – unscripted, unedited, pure free-write – for 5 minutes. Five Minute Friday is a great place to hone my writing practice and be encouraged by other writers as I write. I will set the timer for five minutes and then write. Here we go! I am excited to invite you in, welcome.

Hidden

Sometimes we find ourselves with hidden worries that can lead to misunderstanding the heart of God for us. We may find ourselves having conversations in our mind that remain hidden and we have a hard time bringing them to the Lord even.

I found myself here a few months ago and I begin to imagine what it would be like to sit before Jesus and bring my fears to Him in conversation. What I discovered caught me by surprise even with my safest person, Jesus, I hesitated when trying to open up. The beauty of the way he loves us is that he does not want the hidden things to remain hidden. He wants to shed light and bring us freedom.

This led me to lean into my imagination and allow myself to imagine Jesus in front of me. I began to write and open up and even imagined his eyes kind and loving smiling over me. A devotional began to take shape and I am excited to share it with you all. I will begin to share it on Monday June 112th- Friday the 16th. Sign up here to receive it right in your inbox!

Gracefully,
